Endless, do you work with GIMP at all?

I have very basic, and I mean basic, knowledge of GIMP. I more familiar with PSP, more specifically PSP7.

I don't know GIMP, but I'm told it's fantastic. I would like to learn it.

Like any complex software with a lot of bells and whistles, there's a lot to get used to. In many ways it does the same sort of things as Photoshop does, but it comes at a much lower price (ie. nothing).

For our purposes, what it allows is for layering (just like photoshop). That means that we can have a certain background (such as the floorplan of the ship) and then move around our character icons. We then save the file as a .jpg and upload it to a server.

Very cool. And...I happen to have a Wacom tablet, as I located a *ahem* free copy of Corel Painter X in a portable format. So I'm gonna have to get the GIMP and see what I can see...

And so the GIMP came to be downloaded upon mine laptop...and unto me was delivered the power to become graphically superior.

Havent started with it yet. However, Im looking to have a bit of free time in the immediate future, so I might be able to hit it up.
