This sounds like a fun dynamic. The "frequent occurrence" aside doesn't necessarily have to be true. It could very well be that Gen hasn't exactly pulled his weight yet as ship captain in the eyes of anyone.
I think that would be a great way to start us out, as far as interpersonal dynamic. I don't know if any of the other characters are going to be surly like mine, but with Louw Gen is going to have trouble (not to the point of outright destructiveness to the ship, but perhaps to discipline and efficiency) until he wins the Duros' respect.
Because I get the feeling that Endless is going have us starting out 'in media res', I think it would be fun to have a concurrent backstory thread, in which we play out the meeting of these characters. That way we can get to the action without which we miss out on the history.
Another thing that I saw in a
PbP thread on the Rancor, is a Cantina thread in which the characters can interact in a non-official or in-game kind of way. Jedi Skyler can, perhaps, talk more about that because he's actually playing in that game, whereas I'm just a voyeur.
Now, perhaps I'm pushing things just a little to hard owing to my own enthusiasm. Perhaps we should wait for other characters to get posted.
