I'm strongly considering running a Star Wars game using the WEG d6 system. I'd be running a published adventure called "Tales of the Smoking Blaster". Any interest?

I happen to own a copy of the 2nd ed. Gamesmaster's Handbook, though I've not yet really read that book much. I noticed that 'Tales of the Smoking Blaster' is in there, so I've made sure to stay away from it.

Is this game going to be like a module from a book (because it is in a book, after all), where we are, in a sense, led from encounter-to-encounter, or is it going to be more of a starting-off point from where we decide our own directions?

I actually plan to keep it open-ended. I intend to use the module as a starting point because I thought the initial premise was good and I liked the options that I may present to the group.

Okay,

I do take it that I should stay away from that part of the GM's Handbook, then.

I like open-ended, and the idea that we don't have a predestined lot, but that we can chart our own course.

I'm curious who is going to take the role of 'the Captain', because her/his decisions are likely to carry the most weight, of course.

Yeah, I'd stay away from that part unless you are interested in the premise.  :D

'Interested', yes - wanting spoilers, no.

On a different note altogether, will you be posting guidelines for syntax, so that we can all be using the same format? For my own games I do:

Everything in 3rd person past tense,
Direct quotes in quotation marks and italics,

On the Rancor it looks like people are doing direct quotations in quotation marks and in bold text. GM-text looks to be in Italics.

I like to do third person past-tense.

Speech in quotations and bold.

Thoughts in italics.

I'm considering running a supers game set in the DC Universe. The players would be heroic outcasts banding together to stop a wave of new criminals in Gotham in the year 2050. The show Batman Beyond would be a big influence on the backdrop of the game. The system would be second edition DC Heroes. I'd be looking for 3-4 players and they don't necessarily need previous experience with the system. They just need to have a like/love for DC stuff.

Sorry, I'm just not a DC heroes enthusiast, but I wish you the best of luck finding players.

I've had people interested, but they've been spread across forums. It's getting them here that will be the hard part. lol

I am very interested. I like DC more than Marvel, Batman and Green Lantern being my favorites. Not familiar with the system though...been decades since I played DC Heroes.

I scanned a "Read Me First" book from the second edition boxed set which I was going to provide to players who weren't familiar with the rules.  I'll try to round up some other players. ;D

Sweet! Looking forward to it.

And it's official...had an MRI at midnight last night, and they just called me. I have a rotator cuff tear.

So what's that going to mean for you? Two Advil and calling the doctor in the morning or are you now encased in a head-to-toe cast and laid up in the hospital for six months?
